The Business Development Manager is responsible for Community Liaison, overall external marketing, including coordination with other referral sources. These will be performed while reflecting and demonstrating Visiting Angels’ core values of compassion, dependability, professionalism, and initiative. Every duty or responsibility should further the mission of Visiting Angels and improve the quality of life and level of independence for every client and family receiving our services.

The Core objective is to enhance people’s lives by providing solutions in Senior home care and thus increasing referrals and client(s)/hours by initiating and implementing solutions in building relationships in the community. This person may also help in intake. This will cover areas within the Greater Philadelphia area.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The responsibilities below are general statements that will apply. 

  • Create enthusiasm and interest in Visiting Angels as solution to home care needs for clients through strategic sales calls and external networking as well as meaningful personal network building
  • Able to participate in the on-call phone weekend on call rotation
  • Ensures and works with other office personnel to:
      • Appropriately document new referral sources and manage KPI’s
      • Maintain consistent communication for potential betterment of client’s care
      • Open to and consistently uses Industry Support called Home Breakthrough Solutions methodologies that offers daily, weekly, and monthly support for Home Care specific challenges
      • Consistently uses appropriate platform for lead management to grow service hours, as well as utilizing our scheduling platform
      • Work cross functionally to understand care plan changes for existing clients and collaborate with our referral partners for appropriate solutions
      • Develop cross functional solutions unique to Visiting Angels and unique to each referral partner on their needs
  • Drive growth by spending the majority of the time in the field developing referral relationships that result in eligible agency referrals sales.
  • Educate the referral sources and the community regarding the referral process, our differentiators and how to make it easy to refer. (agency)
  • Understand the philosophy of the private duty model. Remain current on local industry trends to represent and differentiate Visiting Angels’ services in the local market. (agency)
  • Articulate the benefits of private duty home care services and center products to both professional referral sources and consumers.
  • Collaborate with Executive Management Team to develop Marketing and Liaison Action Plan(“MLAP”) and calibrate/modify it on a monthly basis (or as needed) and report on KPI’s associated with MLAP as well as mitigating actions if any.
  • Develop new and ongoing referral relationships with targeted accounts identified in the Marketing Action Plan for the purpose of increasing referrals and achieving business growth goals.
  • Develop and establish Institutional Marketing relationships and make effort to get VA approved as a strategic/preferred partner.
  • Work with CEO to develop corporate relationship so that VA becomes a preferred partner of corporate houses even before clients go to facilities.
  • Work with SEO/PPC/Social Media agencies to develop VA Marketing Plan
  • Accurately complete required reports and documentation.
  • Meet with CEO/President once a week to review Weekly Marketing Schedule.
  • Utilize company resources to ensure an appropriate return on investment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of major competitors and differentiators.
  • Compile Marketing Action Plan by assessing community needs, marketing strategy/objectives, identifying key accounts and the development of specific marketing action items with measurable goals.
  • Demonstrate effective communication with the agency/center team and referral sources.
  • Perform other functions as deemed appropriate by the management team.
  • Conduct Home Visits in exceptional circumstances to help out in lead conversions.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND PERSONAL ABILITIES REQIRED:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business management or communications, preferred.
  • Minimum of one year experience in associated Industry preferred.
  • Must be willing to go out of comfort zone in terms of giving back to community and exemplify what Visiting Angels stands for.
  • Experience with public speaking, demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) applications, scheduling systems and other health care industry related software. 
  • Demonstrate ability to work well with a team.
  • Results oriented.
  • Ability to form relationships and maintain rapport with referral sources.
  • Ability to listen and communicate clearly, fluently and diplomatically orally and in writing.
  • Ability to remain flexible, resilient, calm and maintain a sense of humor; and present a well-groomed professional image.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, delegate and accurately follow through in work activities with time constraints and interruptions to meet deadlines, as well as, work independently with a minimum amount of direction and/or supervision.
  • Ability to generate goodwill for the organization and its management among staff, clients, and referral sources. Demonstrate a strong commitment to client service excellence.
  • Possess and maintain good physical and mental health, including current TB testing.
  • U.S. Citizen or evidence of valid Alien Work Permit.
